A: Live From Downtown: it's First Friday! is held 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. the first Friday of each month February through December.  

Located in Downtown Crescent City, starting at 3rd & J streets continuing to H street, and surrounding I street, Tsunami Plaza.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES ART WALK?

The Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk is a free, self-guided walking tour located between 4th and 7th and Spring and Main along with galleries, restaurants and bars in several surrounding blocks of Downtown Los Angeles from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

The Downtown LA Art Walk was founded in 2004 with a handful of galleries located in Gallery Row as a platform to encourage Los Angelenos from all over the city to visit Downtown LA by inviting galleries to stay open late once a month. Since then the Downtown LA Art Walk has become the most prominent event in the local community and widely known through the Greater Los Angeles area.

What began organically grew into what we recognize today as the Downtown Art Walk with over 50 galleries, 25,000 monthly guests, dozens of local businesses and a million dollars of entertainment for free to the visiting public.

WHERE IS IT?

The Downtown Art Walk is located mainly in the Historic Core between 4th and 9th and Spring and Main Streets.  However, the galleries and restaurants spread beyond to the Fashion District, South Park and the Financial District. Please check the website for the most recent map that includes the surrounding districts. The Art Walk Lounge is located at 634 S. Spring St. at the MALDEF building.

WHEN IS ART WALK?

The Downtown Art Walk is every 2nd Thursday of the month, rain or shine. Please refer to your calendar for specific dates.

WHAT TIME IS ART WALK?

Several of the galleries open as early as noon (as well as during the week). For additional info on these galleries use our website gallery directory. The Art Walk Lounge is open from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. and, as a result, the majority of  Art Walk patrons join us during these hours.

WHERE CAN I GET A MAP?

Official Art Walk maps are completely free and can be found the Lounge located at 634 S. Spring St. in the MALDEF building or at participating galleries.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

Parking is available in several lots throughout the Historic Core and Downtown.  Please follow through to http://downtownartwalk.org/visit/ for parking information.

WHAT IF I WANT TO SELL MERCHANDISE?

To be added to a list of potential vendors please email us at downtownartwalk@gmail.com with your name and vending description.  Please put the word “Vendor”  in the subject header.

WHERE ARE THE FOOD TRUCKS?

The Food Trucks can be found at the corner of 7th and Spring St.

HOW CAN I EXHIBIT MY ART?

If you wish to exhibit in local galleries participating in the Downtown Art Walk, please keep in mind that each gallery operates independently from the Art Walk organization, and have varying procedures for reviewing potential artists. Some are accepting submissions, some are not. Please consult individual gallery websites to see what type of work they represent, if they are accepting portfolio submissions, and what their requirements are. You can find local gallery listings on our website.

If you wish to submit your artwork to be considered for possible inclusion in spaces curated by the Downtown Art Walk (such as the Art Walk lounge), fill out the requested information in this form. We will keep your information on file, and our curators may consider your work for future opportunities. Please note that we receive a very high volume of inquiries from artists wishing to be featured, and that we cannot promise inclusion in any exhibitions.

No, but if you are selling your art, you should collect Florida Sales Tax.  

You are considered a business and if you sell over $600.00 your are required to claim the money on your Federal Tax Return.

2.  Do I need to bring a table or a tent?

Yes, Fort Myers Art Walk does not provide you with a tent, table or chair

3.  Can I share a space with another artist?

Yes, you can - as long as you don't use more than the allowed space.

Table space - no larger than 8 feet X 4 feet

Tent space - no larger than 10 feet X 10 feet

4. When can I set up and where?

You can set up after 5 pm on the NORTH side of First Street from Jackson Street to Monroe Street.  If the barricades are in place - move them, then drive your car in, pick a spot and unload your art.  Then drive out of the barricaded area and park your car.  You can park at any 2 hour street parking out of the barricaded area after 5pm or park in the parking garage.  $5.00 to park in the garage.  Art Spots are not reserved and are first come - first pick.

5.  How do I know Art Walk is not cancelled?

Art Walk has NEVER been cancelled in the almost 10 years that this event has been happening.  We have it Rain, Shine or Cold.  We even have it on Holidays.  

6.  Do you have a map of the galleries and shops that have art?

Yes, we do currently you can find them at Arts for ACT Gallery

located at 2265 First Street in the heart of the River District.
